  • SCARF workshops

Thu 24 Mar 2022 Mrs Smith

Today we welcomed Julie from SCARF to deliver wonderful PSHE workshops to all the children. While we were not yet able to have the return of the Lifebus, it was brilliant to have in person sessions with Julie. Harold also made an appearance and even met our Harold! A huge thank you to Julie for such an enjoyable day. The key messages about healthy body and healthy mind were put across to the children in such an engaging and interactive way. They all joined in, asked questions and had the chance to discuss topics with friends. Well Done St Mark's -Julie said she had a lovely day with such wonderful children!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our wear something red day for Comic Relief, Red Nose Day. The children were invited to wear a red accessory and bring in a donation. We raised a super £125.

"Remember, whatever you do, no matter how small, you can help people live free from poverty, violence and discrimination. This includes funding organisations that are supporting people right now in Ukraine, and those attempting to cross the border. Because you have the power to change lives."

  • NSPCC Assembly

Mon 14 Mar 2022 Mrs Smith

Today St Mark's were delighted once again to take part in the NSPCC assemblies. This very important message of Speak out, Stay safe was heard by all the children. They were introduced to Buddy, the NSPCC mascot and learnt the actions to remember the number for Childline, should they ever need to call. Well done St Mark's you asked sensible and thoughtful questions and know to speak to trusted adults if you are worried about anything.

Tue 08 Mar 2022 Mrs Smith

We are very proud of one of our wonderful Year 6 girls who qualified for today's County Cross Country Championship Run in Basingstoke. She achieved a very noteworthy 31st place out of 103 girls who ran. Mr Chambers said "It was an excellent effort across a very tough course. A credit to herself and St Mark's. Well Done!"

  • World Book Day 2022

Thu 03 Mar 2022 Mrs Smith

St Mark's celebrated World Book Day with the focus on "Reading for Wellbeing". The children and staff arrived at school in pyjamas, onesies, dressing gowns and slippers, ready for a day of reading activities. As it was 25 years of WBD, each class snuggled up with a good book and dropped everything for 25 minutes of reading.

A super day of reading St Mark's - well done!!
