  • Junior Show- A Midsummer Night’s Dream

    Fri 28 Jun 2019

We have bern blessed to watch the Juniors performances of Shakespeare’s classic comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream -delivered with a fresh approach!

Set in a forest outside Athens, it tells a twisting tale of four confused and argumentative young people in love, a group of temperamental fairies, and a gang of rowdy workmen who are trying to rehearse their own play. Oberon, king of the Fairies, sends his hare-brained servant, Puck, to enchant the Queen, Titania. While he’s about it, he may as well enchant the Athenian lovers, too. What could possibly go wrong?

Packed with colourful characters, from feisty Hermia to foolish Bottom, the show was executed with complete profession, showcasing the wonderful talent  we have at St Mark’s.

Well done Juniors- you truly are amazing!

  • Year 6 Leavers Service at Guildford Cathedral

    Wed 26 Jun 2019

On Wednesday 26th June, Year 6 attended their Leavers Service at Guildford Cathedral. They enjoyed a reflective morning alongside hundreds of other Year Six children from Guildford Diocese church schools.  The service took place inside the cathedral, which has been recently  renovated, and the children were stunned with the internal beauty! They took part in exceptional, reflective workshops which helped the children reflect on their time at primary school. The main service was led by Bishop Jo and The Director of Education, Alex Tear.

Our children were wonderful; they were praised by everyone who worked with them and the children carried our standard with pride. Well done Year 6!

  • Fabulous Infant Trip to Alice Holt

    Mon 24 Jun 2019
The St Mark's Infant department had a wonderful trip to Alice Holt. We were very lucky with the weather and had an exciting day full of different activities. The day started with time to explore the new play equipment, then it was off on the Habitat trail with collecting bags and deeper into the forest for a variety of tasks. These included a mini beast hunt, making magic smelly potions, a wiggly worm camouflage game and blind fold activities. Our day ended with everyone making a beautiful bookmark using all natural things we had collected in the forest. A huge thank you to all our helpers, we had an amazing day!
  • Year 4 visit Wintershall

    Thu 20 Jun 2019

On Thursday 20th June we were blessed with glorious weather as we set off to the Wintershall Estate to see 'The Life of Christ'. When we arrived we were guided into the beautiful grounds to prepare for Act I, and it was clear that we were all deeply moved by the spiritual atmosphere  we were about to be part of for the day.

The day enabled the children of Year 4 to see a biblical presentation of the life of Christ of outstanding quality. The cast of over 200 brought to life the characters and the story and we even became part of the 5000 that Jesus fed and were given bread after he performed this miracle.

The children had a wonderful day and were touched by the kindness of the cast and the mobile ‘prayer team’ who completed our visit by praying with our school.

Thank you to all our volunteers and our school governor, Mrs Abbs for sharing this special day with us.

Certainly a day that we will all cherish!
