  • T-Set in aid of Muscular Dystrophy

    Fri 22 Jan 2016

One of our parents, Mrs Fiona Baxter, is fund raising in aid of Muscular Dystrophy and we would like to help her as a school by donating the proceeds of our T-Set this Friday to this cause. We hope that you will consider sending in more than the usual 50p to help raise money for this charity!

Please see below a message from Fiona with details of her other fundraising efforts which include an amazing trip to climb Mount Kilimanjaro!

"Harry was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy about 2 years ago and it is very hard to imagine that he is likely to be in a wheelchair by the time he is 10 years old as he is just like any other boisterous 7 year old boy!

I know that you don't know Harry or his family but they are friends of mine. Harry's parents are a real inspiration and work tirelessly to raise awareness and funds for the research into a cure or drugs that will prolong his life. They have even lobbied David Cameron to allow the release of a drug that is currently being tested.

I am hosting a coffee morning at my house on this Friday 22nd January. An opportunity to get together, natter and eat cake!!! And all in aid of a fantastic cause, all are welcome! The address is: 11 Queen Victoria Court, GU14 8AR. 9am to 12noon.

On Friday 5th February I am flying off to Tanzania to climb Mt Kilimanjaro!!! I have self-funded the trip for what will be the most physical and mental challenge of my life! And whilst I will no doubt benefit from such a life changing experience, I wanted Harry's family and their charity to also benefit.

Therefore I have been fundraising for Help4harry and have set up my own just giving page and I should be grateful if you would consider spreading the word about my challenge and sharing my online just giving link: https://www.justgiving.com/fionacbaxter "

  • Juniors attend a Classical Concert

    Wed 20 Jan 2016

On Wednesday 20th January the Junior children visited the G-Live theatre in Guildford to listen to a classical concert. The aim of the concert is to provide primary-aged school children the opportunity to hear what a classical orchestra can do ‘live’.  The look on their faces made it clear to see how much they appreciated a great group of musicians playing compositions by some of the world’s greatest composers, both old and new, in a concert hall.

At the end we joined 11 other schools to sing the 'Wigwam' song which you can find here to play or download.

Afterwards, the children expressed how much they had enjoyed it and, as always, all the staff were incredibly proud of their impeccable behaviour and good manners.
