  • Amazing Author Visit

    Tue 20 Nov 2018
On Tuesday we welcomed Mr Howard Calvert to share his brilliant new book "Lots of Frogs" with the school. The children loved hearing the story read by the REAL author and were totally inspired to go and start creating their own books. A huge thank you to Mr Calvert for spending so much time with the children answering their questions and talking about the process of publishing a book. We have many budding authors!

    Thu 15 Nov 2018

Today the whole of Key stage one and two set off to the Vue cinema in Farnborough today to watch ‘Tad the Lost Explorer’. This was a specially chosen film with an anti-bullying theme coupled with a heart-warming story about friendship and respect.

The Into Film Festival offers the chance to provide children with the opportunity for meaningful engagement with film. We had a wonderful time and took over the cinema!

Take a look at the photos below!

  • WW1 Remembrance Service

    Fri 09 Nov 2018

On Friday 9th November the school held a very special service to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of WW1. The service was led by the Year 6 pupils who read poems and told of the service men and women who lived in our local area. Each pupil lay down a symbol of remembrance which displayed the name of one those displayed on the WW1 memorial in the church. As each symbol was placed, the pupil read the name aloud to be heard and remembered. This was followed by two minutes of silence and the last post.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
    We will remember them.

  • The St Mark's Bake Off

    Wed 07 Nov 2018

On Wednesday 7th November St Mark's held their second Bake off for the second time!

This was part of the important fundraising that we do for the St Georges foundation to enable them to continue the good work they do for the children in their care.

The cakes went on display in the school hall and were judged (based on their appearance) by the school staff. There was one 'Star Baker' from the juniors and one from the infants, and each won a star baker wooden spoon! The cakes were well received and washed down with a cup of lemonade!  The remainder went on sale to parents and families after school in the playground and during parents evening.

We raised over £200 which is a great achievement and will be gratefully received by the St George's foundation.....Thank you!

  • Be Bright! Be Seen!

    Fri 02 Nov 2018

Our JRSO's, Ellie and Robert, organised a fantastic fun filled day to raise awareness of the importance of being safe an being seen when crossing the road. They encouraged the children to come to school and make bright adaptions to their school uniform and held a competition for the best dressed and the brightest! The brightest costume was tested by turning down the lights and recreating a road in the hall whilst the children held torches to replicate the headlights of cars!

Well done Ellie and Robert - an excellent effort and very well organised!
