  • Whole School Art Day

    Thu 19 Jul 2018
The whole school came together today to celebrate the work of a range of artists. Each teacher chose an artist and the children could then choose which activity they wanted to take part in. The artist were; Van Gogh, Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe and Paul Klee. The mixed groups worked all day carrying out activities involving paint, oil pastels, water colours, collage, large 3D art and more! We were very proud of how the children displayed their CIRCLE values whilst working together and helping the younger members of the groups. What a fantastic way to spend the day together as our term draws to a close.
  • Whole School Big Day Out

    Wed 18 Jul 2018

The excitement had reached a peak as the Big Day Out had arrived!! The whole school community spent the day at Farnborough Leisure Centre enjoying many different activities. The children all had a fabulous time in the swimming pool taking part in team games and relays. They tested out their bowling skills in the bowling alley and were exhausted after a tremendously active dance session including pompoms!!!!! A little rest to work with friends using the large construction apparatus and play a quick round of golf! A final challenge involved newspaper and cellotape - could the children make the biggest free standing structure to hold the ball? We had a wonderful day together and would like to thank all the adults who came to help make this very special day out possible.

  • Year 6 Leaver's Service

    Sun 15 Jul 2018

    What an emotional day!

On Sunday 15th July, the children of Year 6 celebrated their time at St Mark's with their Leaver's Service: The Lord is My Shepherd. They shared their fondest memories, challenges that they had overcome and what St Mark's means to them. They sang songs and reflected about their time at Primary School. The children were extremely lucky to be presented with gifts from the School Governors, the Rotary, and the PTA.

They were absolutely fabulous and we wish them all the best on their future journey through their education!

    Goodbye Year 6!

  • Bikeability Training

    Fri 13 Jul 2018

We were very proud of all the Year 5 and 6 pupils who took part in Bikeability this week.

Congratulations to you all on your achievements!

Below is a message from Donna and Nikki, the instructors.

We would like to say it has been an absolute pleasure. Your children were a credit to the staff and parents of St. Marks school. The year 5 and 6 children were well behaved, resilient and fun to be with. The staff showed us a warm welcome, we really felt at home. Thank you St. Marks for a truly fabulous week.

  • Year 1/2 visit The Gilbert White Study Centre

Fri 13 Jul 2018 Nicola Smith

Year 1/2 had a truly fantastic day at Gilbert White's Study Centre in Selbourne. The trip concluded a mini integrated topic called Map It, where the children learnt all about maps and then were able to extend their Geography field work skills. Please visit the Year 1/2 class page to see all the photographs from our visit and the work the children have completed this week.

Year 1/2 must be congratulated on their enthusiasm and behaviour today, the study centre staff said they were a credit to our school and had been a delight to host. Our thanks to all the adults who accompanied us and to Gilbert White's House for a brilliant day!

  • Junior Production 2018

Wed 04 Jul 2018 Mrs Stocchetti

Hoodwinked - Another fabulous St Mark’s Production

    Wow! What a show!

Every song, word and dance were delivered to perfection as the story of Robin Hood and his merry men unfolded. The Sheriff was fantastically ‘evil’ but in the end good triumphed and Sherwood became a happy and safe place to live again.

There were so many highlights to this show it is impossible to single one out but every child on the stage performed so well and all of the cast were clearly enjoying every minute in the spotlights.

The audience could not help but be drawn into the story and were soon booing, laughing and cheering when required and had as much fun as the characters on the stage. The costumes were spectacular (a huge thank you our parents and families) and combined with the music and direction to ensure that this was truly a show to remember!

Thank you to our audiences, without you there is no show, thank you to the staff for all their hard work backstage but finally the biggest thank you must go to our children who once again showed us just how amazing they really are by making Hoodwinked a huge success!
