On Wednesday 9th November St Mark's held their very own bake off!
After hearing about the important fundraising that the St Georges foundation continues to do to raise funds for children orphaned by Ebola, the children of St Mark’s decided that they wanted to raise enough for the children to have a Christmas party this year, instead of sending our usual Christmas boxes.
The cakes went on display in the school hall and were judged (based on their appearance) by a stand-in ‘Mary Berry’! There was one 'Star Baker' from the juniors and one from the infants, and each won a star baker wooden spoon! The cakes were well received and washed down with a cup of lemonade! The remainder went on sale to parents and families after school in the playground, during parents evening and in our church.
The children set a target of £300 and I am delighted to tell you that we raise.....
£345.87
The children in Sierra Leone will have a wonderful Christmas time...thanks to the generosity of our school community.
Thank you everyone!
