Today is the official day of our school's 120th birthday! To mark the occasion, on Monday the children of St Mark's arrived at school dressed as 'Victorian' children, ready to experience what school life might have been like for pupils 120 years ago!
The children spent the day participating in Victorian learning which included observational drawing, handwriting, geography lessons and, of course, drill!
At lunchtime they enjoyed a traditional Victorian lunch which was followed by a commemorative visit from the Duchess of Strathearn to replicate the important opening ceremony of our school on 19th May 1897.
During the day the children took part in workshops led by a specialist theatre company, which helped them to imagine what life was like for different people during those times.
We hope that they all had a wonderful day!
