Christingle Service

On Tuesday all the children spent time making their own Christingles and learnt about the significance of each part.

  • The orange represents the world.
  • The red ribbons shows God's love wrapped around the world and the blood Christ shed.
  • The 4 sticks and sweets stand for the seasons and God's creations.
  • The candle symbolizes Jesus - the light of the world.

This morning all the children of St Mark's joined together for the lighting of their Christingles and we all sat and watched the lights flickering in the darkened hall and talked about what this meant. This gave us all time for reflecting on the true meaning of Christmas,  before joining in with some wonderful Christingle songs.
