Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Our wonderful Year 6 children took part in a full day of Sports Leaders training. They began with the 6 key principles of enjoyment, opportunities, safety, responsibility, cooperation and instructions. After much discussion about the meaning of these, we tried out ways to organise groups of children and different ways to deliver instructions. The children experienced a wide variety of different games and activities deigned to motivate and engage their groups. It was then time for the children to plan their own activities, writing a structure lesson plan and rehearsing the delivery of instructions. Year 1/2 came out to be our volunteers and they thoroughly enjoyed the energetic activities. Constructive peer assessments were made for each group and an overall judgement made about the achievements during the day. It was with great delight that we were able to award all our Year 6 with the honour of being Sports Leaders! Well done Year 6, we are incredibly proud of you!

Surrey Get Vocal!
Year 5-6 visited Guildford Cathedral as part of Surrey Get Vocal. Last term, the children learnt how to sing in different parts, in time and how to follow a conductor. This term, the children will be writing their own song which they will perform in Guildford Cathedral. The purpose of the visit on Thursday was for the children to be inspired by the incredible building and its history and generate lots of creative ideas. It was wonderful! We also sang with 250 other children and the organ which was an incredible experience - we were especially blown away by the huge echo!
