  PTA Events 2023-2024

The PTA Committee is a structure through which the parents at St Mark’s can work together in partnership with the school to ensure the best possible education and facilities for our children.

The committee is a team of volunteers who are elected at the PTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) each September. There are two types of main committee members: Officers and General Members. Officers have specific roles, either as Chair, Treasurer or Secretary. General members work alongside the Officers and play a vital role.

All committee members have equal voting rights, except for the Chair who holds the casting vote.

The PTA meet on a regular often monthly basis during term-time. Members agree upon what fundraising activities to hold during each term and work towards achieving those fun goals and raising as much money for the school as possible.

The Sub Committee support the PTA and school by volunteering their time at organised events, usually by “manning” a stall, helping to set up/tidy up before and/or after events. They can decide whether to help at all or select events.

The funds we have raised – approximately £3,000 per year, go towards providing extra resources for the benefit of our children. Past purchases include: 8 digital cameras, bike racks, Aqua Aid water cooler, hand bells, Spanish Dance lessons, theatre performances, educational puzzles. PA system and speakers, video camera, BBQ, sun-shade sails etc, etc.

We have raised money from a number of fundraising sources: Summer/Christmas Fayres, Easter Fun Days, School Disco’s, Treasure Hunts and Mufti Days. Fundraising requires a huge amount of effort, so every bit of support from parents, friends and teachers is always greatly appreciated.

If you would like to become more involved with your PTA, please email the school office or speak to any member of the PTA.
