We were blessed to enjoy a visit from the Wintershall team on Wednesday 26th April, who brought some of the stories from the Bible to ‘life’ during our worship.
The school received an e-mail from the Wintershall team after their visit to say how impressed they were with the children's reflections during worship and superb singing.
Decorate an Egg competition!
The theme this year was ‘Literature’ and the children certainly rose to the challenge! Wow! What an absolutely fantastic array of splendid creations… ‘Eggcellent’ everyone, well done.
The staff had a very difficult job of judging them and after considerable discussion and deliberation, they chose 2 winners from each class.
Take a look below at all of the entries – aren’t they ‘eggsquisite’?
Pause Days are an exciting initiative from the Schools department of Guildford Diocese Education Centre. They give schools an opportunity to engage with some high level thinking and reflection during a carefully planned RE day, which also contributes to pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development. Although there will be some significant links with the Diocesan Guidelines for RE, these Pause Day resources are not intended to replace the statutory RE units, but to provide ‘space’ to enhance and deepen pupils’ understanding.
The day had been carefully planned to help the children connect with the events of the first Easter through learning experiences. In addition the hall became a 'prayer space' with rich opportunities for the children to reflect and pray both for themselves and others in the community and across the world.
