Can Children Run the School? ๐
In a world where education constantly evolved, a recent newspaper article stirred quite a debate: Could children learn without a teacher? ๐ค This sparked an exciting challenge for our budding leaders in Year 5/6!
We posed a thought-provoking question: "What if all the teachers in the school disappeared? Could children lead the school?" Our Year 5/6 pupils embarked on a persuasive writing and speech journey, arguing for the potential of their leadership!
Their mission was to convince their peers in Year 3/4 that, should teachers vanish, they could step in and run the school effectively. ๐ซ They delved into various persuasive techniques, crafting compelling arguments to demonstrate not only their capability to lead but also their ability to teach valuable lessons to younger learners.
To bring their persuasive skills to life, Year 5/6 developed Horrible Science-style books that delivered scientific concepts in an engaging and entertaining way! ๐งช๐ฆ This creative project highlighted their understanding of scientific principles and provided a fun way to learn!

Unleashing Creativity: Monet in the Classroom ๐ท๐จ
At our school, we are thrilled to dive into the world of Impressionism with our young artists! In our latest art lesson, the children explored the life and works of the inspiring artist Claude Monet.
๐ Lesson Highlights:
Exploration of Monet: We began our journey by discussing Monet's techniques and the significance of his contributions to art. The children were captivated by his vibrant use of colour and love for nature—especially his beautiful garden scenes!
Colour Mixing Workshop: Next, students had a go at colour mixing, experimenting with various shades to emulate Monet's stunning palette. The joy of creating new hues was evident as they painted their canvases with enthusiasm!
Design and Create: Finally, the children channelled their inner artists, crafting their own Monet-inspired masterpieces. With brushes in hand and creativity flowing, each child painted a scene reflective of Monet's enchanting gardens and water lilies.
Evaluation of Artwork: To wrap up, we encouraged our young creators to evaluate their pieces, discussing what they loved about their artwork and how they could improve.
โจ We believe that engaging in art not only enhances creativity but also fosters critical thinking and self-expression. It's incredible to see our students embrace Monet's vision and develop their artistic skills!
