In this inspiring journey, our young learners will explore three iconic plays: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Macbeth, and The Tempest. Through engaging drama sessions, they'll delve into the rich characters and fascinating plots, bringing Shakespeare's words to life in their own unique ways! ๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽฌ

We're thrilled to announce our talented students will be creating prototype products for in the iconic Globe Theatre shop. ๐ŸŽ‰

This hands-on experience not only allows our pupils to utilise their creativity and technical skills but also provides a unique opportunity to engage with the rich cultural heritage of Shakespearean England. Each prototype will be designed with both functionality and artistic flair, showcasing the incredible talent of our young designers.

Join us as our creative learners dive into the enchanting world of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream! Over the next few weeks, our children will embark on an imaginative exploration of this timeless tale, tackling key skills along the way. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“š

Lesson Highlights:

Making predictions!

Based on our readings, children will unlock Elizabethan beliefs about Midsummer and sharpen their inference skills to predict what unfolds in the story.

Descriptive delights!

Using similes, learners will bring the fairies—Titania, Oberon, and Puck—to life with vivid descriptions.

Words come alive!

With the help of imagery and music, children will draft descriptions of the fairy realm, enriching their writing with fronted adverbials and similes.

Vocabulary mastery!

The children will enhance their descriptions of the woods, utilising a thesaurus to choose precise words and structure their sentences effectively.

Focusing on Bottom, students will collect evidence to explore his personality, selecting five words that capture his essence, while others create missing person’s posters showcasing his traits.

Our budding authors will delve into the complexities of Hermia's character, gathering reasons to evoke sympathy and crafting written explanations of their insights.

First-person perspectives!

Comparing writing styles, children will channel Hermia’s confusion through a first-person narrative, expressing her thoughts and feelings.

Character exploration!

The fun continues with Puck’s character as students examine Elizabethan fairy lore and create captivating descriptions using our writing skills.

Writing from another's shoes!

The magic deepens as children recount events from Puck’s viewpoint, understanding his character through their explorations.
