Reception 2025/26

What we have been doing

We had a visit from the British Army who talked to us about their jobs, showed us their equipment and let us try ration packs.

We went on a train to Guildford and visited the Cathedral. We had pictures of objects to find in the grounds. Then we read a story about listening for quiet things and sat for a few minutes to see what we could hear.

For Pause day, we took part in a range of activities in the hall that gave us time to reflect and think about Easter.

Austin the orangutan decided to travel the world. One of the places he visited was Antarctica. We drew pictures of the landscape in Antarctica.

On World Book Day we shared our favourite stories with each other.

We have been excitedly wearing the new Armed Forces uniforms in our dressing up box.

A visitor spoke to us about keeping ourselves healthy. She showed us different body parts and what they do. We also saw Harold the giraffe who told us about a sleepover he was having at his grandparents. We helped him pack a bag of what he would need.

We created and performed a traditional tales puppet show to our families.

We went to the zoo and enjoyed looking at all the animals. Our favourite was the giraffes!

We followed instructions to make chocolate crispy cakes.

To commemorate Armistice Day, we made a poppy wreath out of handprints and threaded wool onto poppy outlines.
