Easter 2025

Easter 2025

St Mark’s celebrated Easter with our annual Pause Day and Easter Service at St Mark’s church. During Pause Day morning each class took their turn in the hall to undertake reflective activities including, a range of prayer stations and opportunities for thinking about themselves, our school community and others around the world.

In the classrooms, the children explored the Easter story through the idea of witnesses and considering other peoples points of view.

At the church, each class presented a different part of the Easter story through poems, artwork and songs. The choir performed solos accompanied by children playing “the shakey eggs” and glockenspiels. The spirituality team said a fitting poem to conclude the service.

“Jesus came to earth, to show us how to live.
How to put others first, how to love and how to give.

Then he said about his work, that God sent him to do.

He took our penalty on himself, he made us clean and new.

He could have saved himself, calling angels from above.

But he chose to pay our cost for sin, he gave it out of love.”

Our grateful thanks to Rev Mark Chester for opening and closing our service in prayer and to the St Mark’s school and church community for joining us on this special occasion.
