STEM Day at St Marks: Building Tomorrow's Innovators!
We’re thrilled to share the exciting events from our recent STEM Day at St Marks! With the generous support of Beard Construction, our pupils had the opportunity to engage in hands-on workshops run by the incredible STEM charity SATRO.
Throughout the day, Key Stage 2 students rolled up their sleeves to build and code various amazing projects! ️
- ️ Windmills: Students explored basic engineering principles and coding while creating their very own windmills.
- Motion-Sensored Cars: Pupils programmed LEGO cars with sensors, learning about robotics and coding.
- Earthquake Machines: Our budding engineers constructed models to simulate earthquakes, gaining insight into earth sciences and engineering challenges.
️♀️ Year 1 & 2 Solve the Mystery of Goldilocks and the Three Bears! ✨
Our adventurous Year 1 and Year 2 pupils stepped into the shoes of detectives as they embarked on a thrilling investigation titled CSI Goldilocks! Their mission? To uncover the mystery of who devoured Baby Bear's porridge.
Spoiler alert: The evidence led our little Sherlocks through a series of fun and engaging activities.
As young minds explored critical thinking and problem-solving skills, they also immersed themselves in the beloved tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Our young detectives not only had a blast, but they also learned valuable lessons about teamwork, observation, and the joy of working scientifically!
The enthusiasm was palpable as they collaborated, problem-solved, and, most importantly, had a blast! Special thanks to Beard Construction for funding this incredible opportunity that encourages our children to think critically and creatively.
Together, we are building a brighter future for our young innovators! Join us in celebrating their hard work and creativity!
