Welcome to St Mark's Primary School PTA
The PTA Committee provides a framework through which parents at St Mark’s can work in partnership with the school to support the best possible education and facilities for our children.
The committee is made up of a dedicated team of parent volunteers who are elected at the PTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), held each September. There are two main types of committee members: Officers and General Members. Officers hold specific roles—Chair, Treasurer, or Secretary—while General Members work alongside them and play an equally vital role in the success of the PTA. All committee members have equal voting rights, with the exception of the Chair, who holds the casting vote.
The PTA meets regularly and everyone is always welcome! At these meetings, we plan and agree on fundraising activities for each term, working together to organise enjoyable events while raising as much money as possible for the school. This is a great way to meet other parents, share any ideas or suggestions you might have and have your say in how the PTA funds should be spend for our school and children.
Thanks to these efforts, the PTA raises approximately £3,000 each year, which is used to provide additional resources that directly benefit all St Mark's children. Past purchases include PE and outdoor play equipment, a bluetooth speaker, bike racks, annual maintenance of the fish tank, hand bells, theatre performances, days out, educational toys, coaches for school trips and more.
Funds are raised through a variety of events such as the Summer and Christmas Fayre, Easter Activities, second hand uniform sales, school discos, Mufti Days and our regular T-Set held each Friday at school. Fundraising requires a great deal of time and effort, so all support from parents, carers, relatives and teachers is always very much appreciated.
