Christingle Service

The Whole School came together, via TEAM's of course, to take part in our traditional Christingle Service. This week each class has busily enjoyed making the Christingles and learning about the meaning of each part.

Each element of a Christingle has a special meaning and helps to tell the Christian story:

  • The orange represents the world
  • The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
  • The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations
  • The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.

As the hall filled with candles the light by the end of a service spread a magical glow around everyone reminding us that the light of Christ brings hope to us all.
