Remembrance Collective Worship

On Wednesday 11th November, the whole school community gathered together to prepare for the national 2 minute silence at 11am.....

All children made a 'Poppy of Peace' as a symbol of hope for peace across the world one day and brought these respectfully in to hang on our 'Poppies of Peace' wall.

We asked God to help us remember that Peace is better than war and talking is better than fighting.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Poem by Robert Laurence Binyon (1869-1943), published in The Times newspaper on 21st September 1914.

'When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today'
